On 4 December 2025, Prof Robert Beckman participated in a panel discussion on the shadow fleet at the Financial Times Commodities Asia Summit which was held at the ParkRoyal Collection, Marina Bay, Singapore on 3-4 December. The title of the panel discussion was “How are Sanctions and Dark Fleets Reshaping Shipping?”  The panel was moderated by Tom Wilson, the Senior Energy Correspondent of the Financial Times. The other three panel members were Annop Singh, Global Head of Shipping Research for Oil Brokerage, Kata Anandarajah, Head of Competition, Antitrust & Trade at Rajah & Tann, and Charlie Brown, Senior Advisor of United Against Iran. There were more than 300 attendees as well as attendees online. The panel discussion was well received by the audience and covered by the media.
