Research Associate Dita Liliansa participated in the 2022 APOLIA Conference: “UNCLOS in Asia-Pacific: 40 Years and Onwards” from 18 to 20 May 2022 (online). She spoke in Session 2 on Fisheries and Energy, alongside Assistant Professor Jacqueline F. Espenilla (University of the Philippines College of Law). The title of her presentation was “A Quest for Meaning: Interpretation of Article 73(3) of UNCLOS by Indonesian Supreme Court”. Moderated by Associate Professor Lowell Bautista (University of Wollongong School of Law), she discussed how Indonesian Supreme Court interpreted the meaning and scope of the term ‘imprisonment’ within the ambit of Article 73(3) of UNCLOS.
