On 14 February 2025, the Oceans Law and Policy team of NUS Centre for International Law supported a closed-door workshop organized by the Sargasso Sea Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Project on “Consultation on Vessel Activity in the Sargasso Sea: possible impacts, voluntary measures and industry participation”  at Orchard Hotel in Singapore. The meeting brought together a diverse group of participants from the shipping industry, focusing on discussions relating to the characteristics of productive voluntary measures on the Sargasso Sea and the existing best practices within the shipping community as well as challenges to their implementation.
