CIL research fellow, Su Wai Mon, attended the Maritime Cyber Security and Resilience Symposium 2024 held at the IMO Headquarters on 13-14 November 2024. The symposium, co-organized by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and the University of Plymouth's Cyber-SHIP Lab, focused on the latest international research on maritime cyber risk evaluation and mitigation. During the event, experts from governments, industry, academia, and NGOs came together to discuss ways to enhance the resilience of the global maritime supply chain against cyber threats. The symposium provided a platform to explore strategies for fostering collaboration across sectors to build stronger cyber resilience in the maritime industry. Su actively participated in discussions, making meaningful connections with key stakeholders and exploring potential collaborations between academia and industry in addressing emerging maritime cyber security challenges. This engagement highlights the importance of cross-sector partnerships in strengthening cybersecurity measures in the maritime domain.
