CIL Research Fellow Dr Su Wai Mon Spoke at the ASEAN Maritime Cybersecurity Conference co-hosted by the Ministry of Defence Malaysia and Australian Department of Defence, in Putrajaya 17-19 November 2025.

Su delivered a presentation on “Maritime Cybersecurity: Advancing Stronger Regional Cooperation,” where her discussions covered the growing cybersecurity risks facing vulnerable maritime infrastructure; the impact of maritime cyber incidents; existing legal and regulatory challenges and practical recommendations for strengthening regional cooperation among ASEAN Member States and the broader Indo-Pacific. Her discussion linked these efforts to the commitments under the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific, emphasizing the need for coordinated and forward-looking actions.
