CIL Research Fellow Dr Su Wai Mon delivered a guest lecture titled “Bridging Law, Technology and Practice: Legal and Regulatory Challenges in Maritime Cybersecurity” at the Leeuwarden Campus of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands on 23 April 2026. The lecture examined the legal and regulatory challenges posed by evolving maritime cyber threats and highlighted how technical expertise can support the development of more robust and comprehensive governance frameworks. During her visit, Su also toured the university’s state-of-the-art maritime simulators, gaining firsthand insight into how cyber incidents can disrupt safe navigation and operational systems, reinforcing the importance of bridging law, technology, and operational practice in maritime cybersecurity.
