The Maritime Port & Authority of Singapore, organiser of the Singapore Maritime Week 2016, invited CIL to an Appreciation Reception held on 25 May 2016 at Raffles Hotel’s Halia Restaurant. The CIL-MPA Oceans Governance Research Programme was established to focus on three areas: Arctic shipping governance, transit passage regimes under UNCLOS and marine environmental governance. The signing ceremony took place at the sidelines of the annual Singapore Maritime Week (April 17 – 22). CIL’s Associate Director (External Affairs), Ms Sharon Seah represented CIL in receiving the token of appreciation from MPA’s Chief Executive, Mr Andrew Tan.
