CIL-JCLOS International Conference on Governance of Arctic Shipping

The NUS Centre for International Law (CIL) and the K.G. Jebsen Centre for the Law of the Sea (JCLOS) of the UiT The Arctic University of Norway jointly organised the ‘Governance of Arctic Shipping – Balancing Rights and Interests of Arctic States and User States’ International Conference, which was held from 9-11 December 2015 in Singapore. The objective of the Conference was to examine major legal issues relating to shipping in the Arctic and the role of Arctic States, user States and international organisations in Arctic shipping governance. Professor Tommy Koh, Ambassador-at-Large, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore, and Chair of the CIL Governing Board, delivered the Welcome Address at the Conference.
