In accordance with Article 19 of the 2006 Agreement on Trade in Goods under the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Economic Cooperation among the Governments of the Member Countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and the Republic of Korea: Article 19: Dispute Settlement “Unless otherwise provided in this Agreement, any dispute concerning the interpretation, implementation or application of this Agreement shall be resolved through the procedures and mechanism as set out in the Agreement on Dispute Settlement Mechanism under the Framework Agreement.” |

Entry into Force / Termination Provisions |
Article 3: Entry into Force “1. This Protocol shall form an integral part of the Agreement. It shall enter into force 90 days after the date by which Korea and at least one ASEAN Member Country have notified all the other Parties in writing of the completion of their internal procedures necessary for the entry into force of this Protocol. 2. Each Party, upon the completion of its internal procedures for the entry of force of this Protocol, shall notify all the other Parties in writing. 3. Where a Party is not able to complete its internal procedures for the entry into force of this Protocol by the entry into force date set out in paragraph 1, this Protocol shall enter into force in relation to that Party on the date of notification of completion of such internal procedures.” |

The date of entry into force, dates of ratification and notification were not available on the ASEAN Secretariat website as of the time of update. The entry into force and ratification/notification information given above were obtained from the ASEAN Secretariat Resource Centre website on the date indicated above, with the exception of the ratification/notifications of Indonesia and Malaysia, which were obtained from the Treaty Room of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia. Some of the dates given appear to be the dates of execution of the instruments of ratification/notification, rather than their date of receipt by the depository. Although the ASEAN Secretariat website indicated that this instrument has entered into force, there was no record provided of Korea’s notification of completion of internal procedures, which is required for the entry into force of this instrument according to Article 3. |
