“Part VIII Settlement of disputes
Regulation 42 Disputes

1.Disputes concerning the interpretation or application of these Regulations shall be settled in accordance with Part XI, section 5, of the [1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea].

2. Any final decision rendered by a court or tribunal having jurisdiction under the Convention relating to the rights and obligations of the Authority and of the Contractor shall be enforceable in the territory of each State party to the Convention.”

The Regulations on Prospecting and Exploration for Cobalt-rich Ferromanganese Crusts in the Area is part of  The Mining Code; a comprehensive set of rules, regulations and procedures issued by the International Seabed Authority to regulate prospecting, exploration and exploitation of marine minerals in the international seabed Area (defined as the seabed and subsoil beyond the limits of national jurisdiction).
