“Part VIII: Settlement of Disputes Regulation 40 1. Disputes concerning the interpretation or application of these Regulations shall be settled in accordance with Part XI, section 5, of the Convention. 2. Any final decision rendered by a court or tribunal having jurisdiction under the Convention relating to the rights and obligations of the Authority and of the contractor shall be enforceable in the territory of each State party to the Convention.”

The 2013 amended Regulations on Prospecting and Exploration for Polymetallic Nodules were adopted by the Assembly of the International Seabed Authority as provisionally adopted by the Council of the International Seabed Authority. This regulation is part of The Mining Code; a comprehensive set of rules, regulations and procedures issued by the International Seabed Authority to regulate prospecting, exploration and exploitation of marine minerals in the international seabed Area (defined as the seabed and subsoil beyond the limits of national jurisdiction). |
