CIL is delighted to announce the launch of the Singapore Branch of the International Law Association on 27 August 2015. A panel discussion followed on the topic “Why Does Singapore Need International Law? What’s Singapore’s Role in International Law?” The panel comprised Professor S. Jayakumar, Chairman of the CIL International Advisory Panel, Mr Lionel Yee, SC, Solicitor-General, and Mr J. Christopher Thomas, QC, CIL Senior Principal Research Fellow and will be moderated by Professor Simon Chesterman, Dean of the NUS Faculty of Law. CIL Governing Board members Professor Simon Chesterman and Mr Rodman Bundy, Director, Eversheds LLP, together with CIL Director Robert Beckman and CIL Senior Research Fellow J. Christopher Thomas QC are among the founding members of the Singapore Branch of the International Law Association.
