Visiting Scholar Yuan Feng has published a review of Understanding Maritime Security by Christian Bueger and Timothy Edmunds in the journal International Affairs. 

In the review, Yuan praises the book's comprehensive analysis of maritime security, from traditional threats like piracy to emerging challenges such as 'blue crime' and the impacts of climate change. However, he also contends that the book misses an opportunity to fully explore the increasingly critical role of private actors and multilateral organizations, arguing that a deeper examination of their influence is essential for a complete understanding of global maritime governance.
