The objective of the workshop was to bring together experts and representatives from governments in Southeast Asia to discuss and learn from the recent Southeast Asian proposals for particularly sensitive sea areas (PSSAs). The workshop also aimed to explore the potential for regional cooperation for environmental protection through the designation of PSSAs and also in the broader context of marine protected areas.
