Article 8(1) ‘Entry into Force and Termination’:

“This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature by all Member Countries and shall remain in force until it is terminated by the decision of Foreign Ministers.”

This agreement was terminated pursuant to Article II(2) of the 2005 Agreement on the Establishment of the ASEAN Development Fund.

Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand attended the meeting.

Laos acceded to this Agreement pursuant to the 1997 Protocol for the Accession of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic of ASEAN Agreements.

Cambodia acceded to this Agreement pursuant to the 1999 Protocol for the Accession of the Kingdom of Cambodia to ASEAN Agreements.

Myanmar acceded to this Agreement pursuant to the 1997 Protocol for the Accession of the Union of Myanmar to ASEAN Agreements.

Information on Viet Nam’s accession to this agreement is not available at time of update. In its 1995 Declaration of the Admission of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam into the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, Viet Nam agreed to subscribe or accede to all the Declarations, Treaties and Agreements of ASEAN.
