The NUS Centre for International Law Supports the Establishment of Asian Health Law Association

May 5, 2023

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Centre for International Law (CIL)’s Global Health Law and Governance Program is collaborating with the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University, along with the University of Philippines College of Law, the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University School of Law (NYCU Law), and the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), in the establishment of an Asian Health Law Association, which will focus on connecting health law and policy experts, advocates, and practitioners across Asia or with an interest in Asia.

The Asian Health Law Association will facilitate professional development and exchange of ideas, stimulate learning and networking among health lawyers. It will focus on matters of relevance for the Asian region. The Association will also work towards advancement of national, regional, and global health law and policy education in Asia.

The Association will include individuals working in the health law and policy space, who work in a variety of public or private sector work settings, including litigation and consulting firms, policy institutes, academic, in-house and non-profit. The Asian Health Law Association invites suggestions on the names of institutions and individuals who should be invited to participate in laying the groundwork for the formation of this association.

Those interested in participating in the initiative or would like to leave feedback can fill out the Google form available here.
